Job Title: Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for the execution of large-scale capital projects and support of mill maintenance activities. This role oversees a team of Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineers, as well as a Superintendent of Process Control and Automation, with additional reports across engineering and maintenance functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 9 direct reports, including project engineers and technical specialists.
  • Oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of large capital projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Provide strategic direction and technical oversight to ensure projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and corporate teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals.
  • Support mill maintenance activities by providing engineering expertise and resources as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing capital projects.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's livense with demonstrated safe driving record.
