Process Control Engineer
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Initiate, facilitate and implement changes in processes and procedures that reduce repair labor and material costs while improving safety and service.
- Design and implement hardware and software for the mill Honeywell Experion and Rockwell PLC control systems.
- Perform control system tuning and trouble-shooting to maintain production and optimize process performance.
- Control System Software and Firmware updates.
- Coordinate and prioritize E&I daily configuration for DCS and PLC projects.
- Monitor the daily control and stability of the plant equipment in assigned area of expertise using data analysis tools.
- Train operators and supervisors on new control system modifications including updates to training programs or operating manuals.
- Configure OSI PI system database for DCS/PLC data. Maintain daily awareness of plant and product quality for the mill processes.
- Provide technical assistance to the mill operating and maintenance departments to maintain a 24/7 plant operation.
- Update PID, and logic drawings in area of assignment using AUTOCAD. Be aware of technological advances and investigate how they can be adapted to improve the plant operation.
- Assist other engineers, maintenance E&I, technicians in the coordination of their activities as it pertains to the mill automation systems.
- Virtualization and experience supporting servers and networking hardware would be a plus.
Entry Requirements:
- B.S. in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering preferred.
- Or equivalent education with minimum of 3-5 years maintenance experience with concentration in system integration, DCS and PLC configuration.
