The R&D focuses on consolidating and growing our position in our targeted markets segments by developing and commercialising packaging and speciality paper products, energy opportunities from sustainable renewable resources, developing new products and optimising our forestry assets.

 

Our technology centres across the world cover a diverse spread of research and development. In this role you will be working at the Research and development department in Gratkorn, Austria. This centre covers new Technology Development Centre,  Nanocellulose Competence Centre and Papermaking processes.

 

 

Role and responsibilities

 

  • Manage paper and coating related projects
  • Execute R&D projects interlinked with other departments
  • Support all R&D projects with coating related requirements
  • Screen for new coating materials and technologies
  • Support all activities related to cost savings in cooperation with Central Purchasing in the field of coating

 

Required qualifications

 

  • educational background: university degree in paper and pulp technology or related studies
  • working experience & knowledge in paper, pulp, board and functional papers and their coatings (pigmented and functional coatings)
  • strong project management, presentation and communication skills
  • readiness to take responsibility for innovative development projects
  • out of the box thinker and networker
  • willingness to travel and work cross functional
  • fluent in German and English
  • familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • high motivation in performing and learning

Traveling

 

Occasionally, it is sometimes necessary to travel to the group's locations (Belgium, Germany, Netherland, South Africa, North America)
