R&D Scientist (m/f/d) - Karenzvertretung

The R&D focuses on consolidating and growing our position in our targeted markets segments by developing and commercialising packaging and speciality paper products, energy opportunities from sustainable renewable resources, developing new products and optimising our forestry assets.
Our technology centres across the world cover a diverse spread of research and development. In this role you will be working at the Research and development department in Gratkorn (Austria) with the focus on fundamental analytics.
Role and responsibilities
- Lead and execute projects related to chemical analytics (for example HPLC, ICP, EA, IR spectroscopy…) and new business initiatives, ensuring targets, budgets, and timelines are met
- Manage analytical lab devices, methods, CMR/toxic substances, gas handling, inventory, and ensure adherence to SHEQ policies
- Supervise and develop the Fundamental Analytics team, coordinating training and team development
- Develop and implement new test methods to support research goals and innovation
- Lead non-standard laboratory investigations and ensure safety training for handling CMR/toxic substances in line with SHEQ standards
Required qualifications
- PhD in chemical engineering, papermaking, process technology, polymer chemistry or similar (university or university of applied sciences)
- Experience in analytical chemistry
- Experience in setting up and coordinating complex projects
- Good communication skills
- Out of the box thinking and networking capabilities
- Must be able to work cross functional
- Fluent German and English is mandatory
