The European Organisational Development Team is part of Sappi’s Global Talent and Organisational Development segment.

Our team drives Sappi’s strategy of growing talents and enabling a high performing culture in close collaboration with other Sappi departments. We focus on implementing and improving Talent and Development related processes and creating high quality development programs to deliver value for Sappi.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for Learning and Development to join our Team in Europe.

 

Role and responsibilities:

 In your role:

  • You will identify Learning Needs: Understanding the learning needs of different locations is crucial for tailoring learning programs effectively.
  • You design Learning Programs: Creating well-designed learning programs is essential for addressing the identified needs and ensuring effectiveness.
  • You drive Online Learning Adoption: Promoting and encouraging the usage of online learning can enhance accessibility and scalability of training initiatives.
  • You promote Continuous Professional Development: Cultivating a culture of continuous professional development fosters employee growth and organizational success.
  • You monitor Progress: Monitoring participant progress ensures the effectiveness of training initiatives and enables timely intervention when necessary.
  • You collaborate with HR: Working closely with HR ensures alignment of learning initiatives with organizational goals and enhances contributions for employee development.
  • You will facilitate classroom training as needed, primarily focused on supervisor and first line manager development.

In this role you will report to the Senior Manager Organizational Development Europe.

 

Required qualifications:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You bring between 3 to 5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably with overseeing talent and culture.
  • You possess good project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • You exhibit a good knowledge of different learning methodologies and the ability to put them into practice.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.

Good to have:

  • Master’s degree
  • Proficiency in Italian, Dutch or Finnish
  • Good working knowledge of the Cornerstone talent management system
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360 and Flowsparks

 

Location:

This job can be located in any Sappi German or Austrian location.

 

Traveling:

It is expected to have some traveling (up to 30%) to the locations in Europe and from time to time to South Africa, including nights away.
