We are hiring!
We are on the lookout for an experienced Distribution Planner to co-ordinate the daily distribution plan and resolve all order management to ensure customer requirements are met.
As a Distribution Planner, you will be responsible for:
Customer Services
- Alert the Sales Department of customer credit limits and any other delivery restrictions
- Co-ordinate regional distribution plan
- Constantly keep customers informed regarding the delivery status
- Highlight concerns regarding high customer stock levels in warehouses
- Provide proof of delivery to customers on request
- Co-ordinate Customer Service Requisition (CSR) process related to customer stock returns
- Maintain updated customer Service Level Agreement’s (SLA)
Logistics
- Manage the creation of the distribution plan to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Communicate with Transporters to chase Tender Acceptance/Rejection
- Manage the Regional Shipment Planning by checking that all flags have been executed
- Coordinate the movement of stock between Distribution centre (DC)’s and Mills as required.
- Extract and distribute daily logistics shipments i.e. Plan vs. Actual (Dropped loads)
- Manage the daily & weekly distribution plan, following customer feedback.
- Liaise with DC’s to discuss warehousing constraints
- Keep Customer Services Administrators (CSA)’s informed of delivery status by using Tracking & Trace
- Co-ordinate and ensure logistics CSR’s are kept at a minimum
- Manage Inbound Monitor (IDM); update vessels estimated time of arrival (ETA), including transhipping details
Reporting
- Transport Planning vehicle scheduling (TPVS) matched Customer & DC stocks (stock reports)
- Daily & weekly logistics plan
- TPVS Shipments plan
- Tracking & Trace shipment report
- IDM reports
What are we looking for?
- Relevant Diploma / Degree in Logistics
- At least three (3) years’ experience in logistics
- Sound SAP/APO/BW knowledge
- An advantage would be to have TPVS planning understanding
