Join our Corporate Affairs team as a Regional Communications Practitioner, where you'll drive impactful communication strategies and initiatives to support internal stakeholders and business goals, enhance our brand, and foster strong relationships.

 

 

As a Communication Practitioner, you will:

  • Develop and implement operational communication strategies and plans to support the business objectives of key stakeholders. Provide functional and administrative support for relevant projects.
  • Create engaging and informative content for internal communication channels. Manage end-to-end production and design, ensuring high quality and effective distribution. Identify external media opportunities.
  • Oversee consistent application of Sappi CI across all communication assets. Conduct brand audits and manage branding replacements. Support the consistent articulation of Sappi’s brand narrative.
  • Identify and gather stories and content from the business. Contribute to external campaigns with authentic, story-driven content.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal events and manage the regional event calendar. Support external sponsored events and capture visual assets for our online library.
  • Effectively manage the coordination and implementation of strategic regional programmes, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communication tools and messages. Conduct research and compile reports to inform future strategies.
  • Compile project budgets and manage expenditure within approved limits on SAP. Support the departmental internal communication budget.
  • Maintain effective relationships with senior business leaders and external suppliers. Support building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support the coordination of high-profile government delegations.
  • Share updates on community relations developments and amplify local success stories.
  • Assist in communicating Sappi's social impact initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant Public Relations/ Communications qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Code 08 driver’s license with three years of driving experience and own transport
