Kirkniemi Mill
The Kirkniemi mill in Lohja produces approximately 750,000 tonnes of high-quality magazine papers annually, which are used in publications around the world. Kirkniemi employs approximately 550 paper industry professionals from production to product development.
Task description
The Kirkniemi mill is facing a new challenge, as wood procurement will be transferred to its own wood procurement organization during 2025. A new Head of Wood Procurement has already started and he is currently building up his new organization where the first step is to hire
a Manager Wood Sourcing
whose main responsibilities are the operational planning, control and quantity management of wood procurement containing both pulpwood and wood fuels as well as wood procurement contracting agreements and HSEQ matters.
The wood sourcing manager participates in the strategic planning and commercial negotiations of wood procurement. As the wood sourcing manager he/she acts as a line manager for wood reception team, who take care of the measurement and storage of wood.
Tasks include collaboration with wood suppliers and requires occasional travelling to wood suppliers.
Supporting success in the tasks
- Education in forestry, such as Bachelor / Masters or Forestry, Forest Engineering or Forest Economics
- Previous work experience in wood procurement. In particular, we value experience in round wood and wood fuel deliveries.
- Initiative, activity, positive attitude towards development and resilience to pressure
- Good communication, cooperation and interaction skills
- Smooth use of information systems
- Good oral and written skills in English and Finnish
