We’re on the lookout for a Chipper Knife Grinderman to provide a basic engineering service which is re-sharpening and grinding of chipper knives, slitter knives, slitter drums, bed knives and guillotine knives according to safe engineering standards.

As a Chipper Knife Grinderman, you will be responsible to: 

• Slitter Sharpening & Maintenance: Sharpen slitter knives to required tolerances daily.
• Grinding Machine Operation: Operate specialized grinding equipment including Elliot Surface Grinder.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and ensure proper functioning of all grinding and machining equipment.
• Precision Grinding & Quality Control:  Grinding of knives to precise specifications and quality standards. (Adhering to the required knife angles)
• Tool Handling & Distribution: Efficiently handle, collect, and clean machines.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.

What are we looking for?

Relevant Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant NQF Level (4) qualification or (Grade 12/N3) with Mathematics and Science.
• Recognised Trade Test Advantageous.
• One (1) year engineering/workshop experience.
• SAP knowledge will be advantageous.
• Valid driving license.
