We are hiring!

 

We’re on the lookout for a Rigger to provide a specialist service to the customer on rigging and inspection of lifting equipment on a daily basis and shift basis throughout the mill according to safe engineering standards.

As a Rigger you will be responsible for:


•    Write quality control procedures for rigging tasks.
•    Liaise with customer on rigging requirements and advise (customer plant engineers, foremen, production personnel.
•    Contact suppliers and outside firms pertaining to lifting equipment to get the best service and quality at all times.
•    Attend meetings and enquiries as part of a service to the mill
•    Instruct and control personnel who are functionally assigned as part of a rigging team or contractors during shut in area of responsibility.
•    Drive mobile cranes and machinery in the absence of crane drivers or when the job requires of them to do so.
•    Do legal inspection for lifting equipment, complete registers and declare equipment fit for use or not.
•    Do specialised rigging tasks by assessing requirements and calculating safe lifting angles, radii and loads for lifting equipment and mobile cranes.
•    Understands the SHEQ requirements of the Section.
•    Investigates incidents (SHEQ) and identify root causes of non-conformances and corrects deviations.
•    Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all time.
•    Inspection of lifting equipment, lifting machinery and colour coding.


What are we looking for?

Relevant Qualifications & Experience

•    Matric & N2 Engineering (N3 Desirable)
•    Rigging Trade Test Certificate 
•    Two (2) year’s post – apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment.
•    Rigging experience in paper machine roll removal and installation will be preferred
