Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize Equipment: Develop strategies for maximum equipment efficiency.

  • Engineering Support: Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for DCS, QCS, VSD Drives, and hydraulic systems.

  • Maintain Electrical Integrity: Oversee our 132kV yard and 11kV power reticulation system.

  • Project Management: Manage capital projects in line with Sappi standards.

  • Identify Improvements: Justify capital expenditure for new equipment and upgrades.

  • Contract Management: Negotiate and ensure compliance with engineering contracts.

  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe work environment per legal regulations.

  • Lead the Team: Develop and align the electrical engineering team with organizational goals.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering (4-year program) or National Higher Diploma in Engineering.

  • Government Certificate of Competence (Factories).

  • Relevant management qualification; Professional Engineer registration is a plus.

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience; Pulp and Paper industry experience is advantageous.
