We’re on the lookout for a Finishing Supervisor to direct and supervise the duties of the Winder and Wrapline operators (4).

 

As a Finishing Supervisor you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure safe operation of Winder and Wrapline at all times: Enforces safe practices and corrects unsafe behaviours immediately.
  • Maintain production throughput at required pace: Ensures smooth, continuous flow aligned with production targets.
  • Manage and resolve Winder and Wrapline issues: Includes clearing wrapline faults and responding quickly to operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate breakdown response with engineering and production teams: Ensures timely reporting and completion of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met: Prevents wrapping of damaged reels and works with QC to minimise shrinkage and rejections.
  • Monitor and manage reel flow to warehouse: Communicates with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient product movement.
  • Maintain housekeeping and a clean work environment: Ensures equipment and floors are free of broke and hazards.
  • Complete shift reports and track equipment performance: Includes downtime reporting and documenting equipment failures for continuous improvement.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science and N3 Pulp and Paper.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Wrapline, Newsprint, Winder and Core cutter operations.
  • Supervisory experience will be advantageous.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office or similar systems).
