We’re on the lookout for experienced Hydraulic Millwrights to provide an engineering and maintenance service by undertaking installation, maintenance, repair, and modification activities on hydraulic and lubrication equipment and systems of a complex nature

 

 

As a Hydraulic Millwright, you will be responsible for:

  • The modification of hydraulic and lubrication systems by configuring new components and installation to standardise equipment as far as possible to meet production and engineering requirements.

  • Collaborating with others (e.g., contractors, vendors, etc.) to implement and maintain services.

  • Ensuring that plant modification requests are submitted for all system modifications and approved by the relevant Production and Engineering personnel, including filing of documentation at the Drawing Office for future reference.

  • Ensuring drawings of plant hydraulic schematics, which are used for basic fault-finding, are updated timeously and correctly, and the latest revision is filed at the Drawing Office.

  • The commissioning of hydraulic and lubrication systems, and new or modified installations by making final connection to the plant according to production and engineering requirements and standards.

  • Ensuring hydraulic / lubrication systems comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 system requirements.

  • Assisting with investigations, creating/initiating, or updating drawings, recommending maintenance plans and procedures.

  • Oil sampling and implementation of recommendations as per oil sampling and analysis program.

  • Participating as a team member in the MDT team that carries out technical investigations regarding maintenance problems to close out failures on all Hydraulic / Lubrications related failures.

  • Performing standby duties.

  • Utilising all Sappi's systems in the execution of the maintenance strategy and realisation of the objectives (SAP, PS, PM, CO, RCA & Activity Manager).

  • Assisting Maintenance Engineers with the preparation of the Maintenance budget.

  • Supporting MDT.

  • Supporting Maintenance efforts.

  • Shut implementation and supervision.

 

 

 What are we looking for?

  • NQF4: qualification in Engineering Studies

  • Recognised Millwright Trade certificate

  • Heavy industry experience – 3 to 5 years

  • At least 3 years hydraulic system and maintenance experience
