We’re on the lookout for an experienced Jagenburg Operator to operate the winder and to manage the winder crew so that an efficient winder operation is maintained.

 

As an Jagenburg Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure correct MPS handling and on-put placement.
  • Maintaining accurate records of winder settings, downtime, and shift activities.
  • Communicating problems and improvement suggestions to the Shift Superintendent.
  • Ensuring all tools, materials, and shift handovers are in place for effective operations.
  • Assisting with shut tasks, start-ups, and safe threading of the web during on-puts and sheet breaks.
  • Supporting slitter knife changes and applying gum tape to secure paper ends to cores.
  • Collecting and placing correct-size cores and ensuring adequate core stock at the winder.
  • Operating the ejector, lowerator, conveyor, and overhead crane safely and efficiently.
  • Removing side runs via the OTIS lift and checking that rewound webs meet quality standards.
  • Labeling and logging rolls on PTS, including inserting core plugs and applying barcode labels.
  • Gluing loose ends, clearing excess paper, and verifying correct setup display on PTS.
  • Performing knife changes and actively monitoring web setups and cut numbers.

 

What are we looking for:

  • Grade 12 (Maths and Science) or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
  • Minimum of 6 Months Experience in Production.
