We’re on the lookout for experienced Maintenance Managers to provide leadership to achieve cost-effective and efficient maintenance and establish and enforce effective engineering and maintenance procedures and standards in order to maximise the production of dissolving wood pulp in a safe and legally compliant manner.
As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

Participatig in developing and executing the mill's Maintenance and Improvement strategy, ensuring equipment is available, reliable and efficient.

Completing effective shut planning and execution including coordination of multidisciplinary annual maintenance shuts.

Managing and maintaining all engineering installations in the area of responsibility assigned to you.
-
Developing and maintaining relevant mill documents and standards, specifications and procedures that ensure compliance with maintenance best practices and engineering standards and specifications.

Planning and implementing predictive and planned maintenance techniques.
-
Identifying, motivating and justifying capital expenditure projects for new plant or machinery upgrades.
-
Overseeing the development of equipment and process specifications and approve changes in the design of the plant.
-
Accountable for the commissioning of new and decommissioning of old equipment.
-
Accountable for contract management including contract negotiations for major engineering contracts in addition to determining when engineering services should be outsourced.

Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment through complaince to legal regulations and mill procedures.

Direct maintenance, engineering and project team members in terms of performance management, talent management, goal alignment, career development and learning in areas of responsibility

Compiling and implementing annual maintenance and fixed costs budgets and participate in long-term financial business plans in order to execute the maintenance and improvement strategy.
What are we looking for?

NQF level 8 qualification (4-year Engineering Bachelors degree / Related equivalent) coupled with a relevant management qualification at NQF level 6
-
Government Certificate of Competence (Factories)
-
Registration as a professional engineer would be considered advantageous
-
8 – 10 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry environment with proven people management experience
-
Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry experience would be advantageous
