We’re Hiring: Mill Wide Foreman – Shifts
We are seeking an experienced Mill Wide Foreman – Shifts to coordinate safe and effective maintenance activities across the mill. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring long-term plant availability and reliability, contributing to improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Key Responsibilities
As a Mill Wide Foreman – Shift, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating breakdown and opportunity maintenance by prioritising resources in line with Mill priorities and procedures.
- Assessing equipment, material, and labour requirements to execute complex maintenance tasks efficiently and to Mill standards.
- Planning and executing shutdown activities to ensure safe, effective, and timely completion.
- Coordinating and managing external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to required standards.
- Performing and supporting skilled maintenance work to resolve operational issues and complete projects effectively.
- Managing tools, equipment, vehicles, master data accuracy, and work order processes to support maintenance objectives.
- Leading people management activities, including performance management, skills development, attendance control, and participation in recruitment processes.
- Controlling maintenance-related costs within budget, preparing shift reports, communicating with stakeholders, and responding to customer feedback.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Engineering qualification at NQF Level 5 or N4 Engineering Studies.
- Recognised Trade Certificate (Manpower/SETA accredited).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post–trade test experience in plant operations within a heavy industrial environment.
- Computer literacy (MS Office package).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Experience within the Pulp and Paper industry.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Supervision / Management experience advantageous.
