We’re on the lookout for a Process Controller in Training - Recovery to join our structured training and development programme. The purpose of this role is to develop the successful candidate into a competent Process Controller by completing the required training manuals, obtaining the necessary qualifications and licences, and gaining practical on-the-job experience.
As an Process Controller in Training - Recovery you will be responsible for:
Plant Operations
- Take over and hand over shifts using the electronic reporting systems.
- Monitor plant operations and review production and process data.
- Execute production activities such as start-ups, shutdowns, and plant stops.
- Check quality sheets, log sheets, and exception reports.
- Optimise plant performance within current operating constraints.
Communication
- Communicate plant status and process issues to the Shift Superintendent and team.
- Capture and update plant information in SAP PM, OEE systems, and the daily logbook.
- Ensure accurate communication during shift handovers and plant activities.
SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Identify hazards and report safety incidents immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.
Administration & Development
- Capture accurate plant data and support training and development to become a competent Process Controller.
What are we looking for?
- Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Recovery environment.
- Valid Outside Operator or Process Operator licence.
- Study towards a relevant NQF Level 5 qualification.
- Relevant National Diploma (Pulp and Paper / Chemical / Process related) will be advantageous.
