We’re on the lookout for a Process Relief Operator- Chemical to assist production in reducing overtime by providing leave/training relief.

 

As a Process Relief Operator- Chemical, you will be responsible for:

  • Operate process equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures, best operating practices and production requirements.
  • Relieve operators across identified Chemical positions and perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the positions being relieved.
  • Conduct effective shift handovers and ensure accurate recording and communication of operational activities, incidents, abnormalities and outstanding work.
  • Monitor equipment and report breakdowns, faults and abnormalities to the Foreman/Operating Staff, assisting with troubleshooting and corrective actions where required.
  • Support operational interventions and problem-solving initiatives, including participation in 5-Why investigations and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Comply with all SHEQ requirements by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions and hazards, conducting BBS observations, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation in accordance with the required operational and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in training, coaching and development activities by attending progress meetings, completing required interventions and acting on feedback to build section-specific skills and competencies.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Matric (Grade 12) with Maths & Physical Science or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
  • National Diploma in Pulp and Paper/Chemical Engineering or related fields will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 0-3 months experience as Process Trainee/Production Intern.
