Join Our Team as a Senior Health and Safety Officer!

We're seeking a dedicated Senior Health and Safety Officer to help us implement a sustainable, integrated health and safety management program that adheres to legal and ISO certification standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, monitor, and report on H&S legal and certification compliance; advise on action planning.
  • Follow up on audit/inspection findings to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Enforce compliance with life-saving rules, procedures, and legal requirements; recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Provide H&S advice to management, contractors, and employees to ensure legal compliance.
  • Develop, review, and update procedures to align with ISO standards.
  • Monitor critical safety tasks to ensure adherence to correct procedures.
  • Coordinate H&S awareness campaigns, risk assessments, and occupational health surveys.
  • Assist with contractor safety requirements, perform investigations, and participate in incident analysis and safety meetings.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Safety Management or relevant NQF Level 6 qualification.
  • Certificates in HIRA, RCAT & SHEQ auditing
  • Professional membership with SAIOSH.
  • Professional registration with SACPCMP advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Health and Safety function within manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of HAZOP and SWIFT for MOC, OHS Act 85, BBS system, Isometrix, PJO’s and VFL’s.
