Join Our Team as a Softwood Operator!

We’re looking for a dedicated Softwood Operator to manage the operations of our Softwood plant, from the Softwood Entry Deck to the Chip Pile.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-operational checks using CCTV and SCADA controls.
  • Test and ensure the Metal Detector is functioning at the start of each shift.
  • Safely start up and shut down plant machinery.
  • Monitor plant operations to prevent equipment damage and maintain efficiency.
  • Control log feeding to avoid blockages and misalignment.
  • Identify and address abnormal conditions according to Best Operating Procedures (BOP).
  • Ensure the plant meets daily production and quality targets.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding production and safety issues.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in the Woodyard Section.
