This position develops and implements the Sappi North America operations planning strategy of ensuring reliable and efficient product availability while maximizing profitability and maintaining targeted customer service. This position collaborates with the sales, marketing, operations planning, and manufacturing groups to develop and implement Advanced Planning and Optimizing (APO) rules to meet current and new business goals. The primary function for this role is to create and maintain the product sourcing rules in the global SAP APO system for all finished goods, parent rolls, and WIP products to enable the sales, scheduling, production, and distribution of all NA and EU products distributed through the North American supply chain. The individual in this role has proven experience with material maintenance, inventory, inside sales, and block planning.

 

Essential Function Responsibilities

 

Provide support to supply chain in the order to cash process for new programs. This support is always deadline driven, ranging from order sourcing to project work, supporting new programs in the graphics and packaging businesses. The project support includes meeting with the business, including Operations Planning, Inside Sales, Marketing, and Mill Production, to understand the goals and functional gaps while developing improvement plans. Analysis of the functional gap may require system change requests (DCR) for IT development in SD/APO/MES. When the development is complete, unit and functional testing is provided to ensure proper quality controls. The final step is risk assessment, followed by development and implementation of the change plan.

Provide analysis to identify changes that can help the supply chain meet new and changing business requirements.

Collaborate with and provide support managing system master data including materials, outside converting, production modules, and plants  to ensure low risk and high quality of change. Master data changes need to be well communicated and planned with all functional stakeholders.

Provide daily support through interactions with Operations Planning, Inside Sales, and Mill Production to ensure orders are strategically sourced while meeting external stakeholder requirements.

Provide analysis of repetitive routine work.

Analyze, design, develop, and implement business processes and changes to improve efficiency and productivity in order entry and inventory management.

Discuss and work through multiple conflicting demands under tight timelines and across functional boundaries

Some travel may be required

Experience in SAP/SD/APO

Effective project management

Effective written and oral communication skills

Effective presentation skills

Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and functional databases

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with large teams to deliver projects within specified deadline.
