Job Overview: The C&A Manufacturing Process Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of equipment, systems, and human resources within the Coatings & Additives (C&A) manufacturing process. This role ensures zero downtime for paper machines due to C&A supply issues and collaborates closely with operations planning to manage raw material inventory. The Manager will coordinate the mixing and delivery of coatings and additives, synchronize grade changes across all paper machines, and lead shutdown strategies. This position also requires optimizing costs, implementing quality improvements, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management (20%): Oversee daily operations, including problem-solving, emergency coordination, and planning/executing department and major shutdowns. Work closely with maintenance, engineering, technical, pulping, and operations planning teams for effective day-to-day management and long-term planning of the C&A operation.
  • Technical Coordination (15%): Interface with external consultants and vendors to manage trial activities, material optimization, and ensure proper inventory and equipment for material supply.
  • Training & Development (20%): Assess safety, technical, and operational needs of crew members. Develop and administer training programs to maintain production capabilities. Provide performance management and capability development for shift supervisors.
  • Team Leadership & Conflict Resolution (20%): Resolve grievances and complaints by working with employees, shop stewards, and HR. Facilitate regular crew meetings to foster a team-building environment.
  • Quality & Compliance (15%): Maintain and update coating formulations per ISO standards. Work with internal and external auditors to handle all Corrective Action Reports (CARs) in C&A.
  • Customer Focus (10%): Work with customers and resources to resolve issues, improve product quality, and ensure consistent delivery. Strive to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of job-related experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in managing complex manufacturing processes and leading cross-functional teams.
