The Somerset Mill in Skowhegan, Maine is looking for a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Journeyman to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with your team to keep the plant running safely and efficiently, with opportunities to learn and grow along the way.

 

Job Highlights:

  • Pay: Journeyman A rate of $49.34/hour, plus vacation credit for up to 12 years of prior industrial experience.
  • Hands-On Work: Work directly with electrical and instrumentation systems, DCS & PLC controls, AC/DC drives, and power distribution systems.
  • Learn & Grow: Cross-training and mentorship opportunities help you build new skills and expand your expertise.
  • Team Environment: Work with a skilled, safety-focused team that values doing things the right way.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Support DCS and PLC control systems to keep the plant running
  • Maintain AC and DC drives, power distribution systems, and other electrical systems
  • Take part in safety practices, continuous improvement efforts, and sharing knowledge with the team

What We’re Looking For:

  • BSEET degree or two-year technical college degree preferred
  • 2+ years of E&I Journeyman experience preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience with Honeywell TDC 3000, Allen-Bradley PLCs, or similar systems is a plus
  • Experience in pulp & paper or an industrial setting is a plus
  • Problem-solving skills, safety awareness, and a team-first attitude
