Operations Maintenance Coordinator – Paper Mill
Overview:
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) is a key member of the Paper Mill Manufacturing team and has a substantial impact on the Safety, Environmental, Quality, Financial and Reliability Performance of the Paper Mill Assets, and Somerset’s overall performance.
Essential Function Responsibilities:
- The primary liaison between the Paper machine operations, maintenance, reliability and external support vendors with responsibility for the prioritization of Daily and weekly work being performed on the assets.
- The primary liaison between the Paper machine operations, maintenance, reliability and external support vendors with responsibility for the coordination, planning and execution of maintenance and clothing outages. Performs the role of “outage captain”.
- Accountable for the maintenance budget for the asset(s) to which they are assigned, including cost forecasting and identification and implementation of cost improvements to maintain maintenance costs under budget.
- Contributes to safety improvement efforts, process/productivity improvement projects and capital projects.
- Sets maintenance priorities on assets, directly impacting fixed and variable costs as well as OME%, Unscheduled and Scheduled Maintenance downtime %. Ensures that critical PM’s are prioritized within the weekly schedule. Protects the weekly maintenance work schedule and leads the natural work team ensuring that the work management best practices are adhered to.
- Provides direct leadership to the Natural Work Team
- With the reliability team, leads reliability improvement efforts to solve complex problems to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime. Improve and expand preventative and predictive maintenance strategies where needed.
- Periodic Weekend duty coverage responsibilities for Maintenance.
Entry Requirements
- Strong safety leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of operational or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
