About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Protection Officer to join our Site Security Team. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and security of employees, contractors, and facility assets. You will be responsible for monitoring facility access, conducting security rounds, issuing safe work permits (including Confined Space Entry and Hot Work), and responding to hazardous material, fire, and medical emergencies. You will also provide treatment for minor injuries on site.

This is a shift-based position, including nights, weekends, and overtime, and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in public safety or emergency response.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor employees, contractors, and visitors entering and exiting the facility.

  • Conduct routine security rounds and inspections.

  • Issue and manage safe work permits (Confined Space Entry, Hot Work).

  • Respond to hazardous material incidents, fire alarms, and medical emergencies.

  • Provide basic first aid and treatment for minor injuries.

  • Maintain accurate records and communicate incidents clearly.


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician (preferred). Must obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not already certified.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer literacy.


Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Prior police, public safety, or professional first responder experience is strongly preferred.

  • Industrial safety experience or education.

  • Firefighter I or II certification.

  • Hazmat Technician certification and SCBA qualification.

  • Confined Space Rescue experience.

  • Military experience with relevant public safety training is a plus
