We’re on the lookout for a Analyst: Vibration to support engineering maintenance and operations personnel through acquisition and analysis of condition monitoring raw data and supply accurate information to maximize equipment reliability and plant availability by utilizing vibration analysis, oil analysis and infra-red scanning including the performance of laser alignment, balancing, material analysis and thickness testing.
As Analyst: Vibration , you will be responsible for:
- Performing laser alignments on relevant equipment to within mill standards.
- Performing infra-red scanning and analysis on equipment as and when required.
- Performing vibration readings and analysis on equipment as per scheduled work orders
- Performing ad hoc oil analysis as and when required.
- Performing balancing on equipment as and when required
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of Data Logger, Infra-red camera, laser alignment equipment and Bruker (material analysis machine)
- Planning, prioritizing and delegating work on a daily basis
- Responsible for maintaining all records, ie. Scheduled work, unscheduled work, breakdowns, month end reports, vibration analysis, cost savings report, failure analysis, root cause analysis etc.
- Reporting of machinery conditions to the respective foreman and engineers in an on-going basis.
- Responsible for setting up vibration databases by gathering accurate information from the plant, library and suppliers manuals pertaining to bearings, gears, roll diameters, pumps, gearboxes, motors, etc and maintain and develop master date for the entire mill on computerized system
What are we looking for?
- Matric Certificate and N6 / NQF Level 5 - 6 or equivalent
- Mechanical/Instrument/Electrical Trade Test (Manpower/Seta accredited)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ post apprentice experience in a heavy engineering industry
- Completion of accredited vibration analysis course/s (Cat I or Vibration Analysis I)
- Previous exposure to equivalent predictive diagnostic technology (advantageous).
- Exposure to condition monitoring tools (advantageous)
