We are on the lookout for an experienced Project Engineer (Fixed Term - 12 months) to ensure that mill projects and newly installed equipment are managed according to accepted standards

 

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for: 

 

  • Managing Project life cycle.
  • Promoting sustainability throughout all aspects of Engineering and Projects.
  • Measuring plant performance against set process limits and determine process quality.
  • Benchmarking plant performance against international norms.
  • Investigating process deviations and develop procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Investigating new or alternative processes and equipment.
  • Drawing up Engineering proposals including personnel and budget allocations.
  • Managing project costs and personnel allocation to budget.
  • Selection of equipment compatible to the various process applications.
  • Understanding and application of PM2 principles of Project Management.
  • Understanding and implementation of all ergonomic aspects of plant design.
  • Developing best operating procedures and manuals with relevant subject matter experts.
  • Performing hazard / risk assessments for new equipment and processes.
  • Contributing to departmental SHEQ objectives and targets.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • BSc/BEng/BTech Engineering with at least 3 years experience as an Engineer in a heavy industry/manufacturing environment
  • OR a National Diploma with at least 5 years experience as an Engineer in a heavy industry/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is an advantage.
  • Leadership experience is an advantage. 
  • SAP experience is and advantage.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Projects, Autocad Drafting).
