We’re on the lookout for a SHEQ Manager to direct, manage and co-ordinate the Risk Management Department (Environment and Safety).

 

As SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Reporting on the Mill’s environmental and risk management status monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Supporting the Groups Energy Management objectives by overseeing and reporting on greenhouse gas emission reductions
  • Monitoring & reporting environmental legal requirements and compliances with relevant government authorities
  • Maintaining membership and foster close liaison with professional associations, industry leaders and/or service providers in the environmental management field
  • Assisting engineering contractors, equipment suppliers, consulting engineers and consultants with the environmental aspects involved in the development and installation of plant/systems to meet environmental objectives
  • Directing the Safety team in risk identifications, assessment and recommendations to reduce risk of occupational illness and injury
  • Compliance with statutory requirements in the risk management through monitoring of legislative changes, consultation with legal experts, external legal compliance audits, corrective action plans and internal audits
  • Directing the Safety team in terms of the Mill’s communication strategy, security philosophy, policies and practices
  • Managing, maintaining and continuously improving Intergrated Management System (IMS)

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Environmental and/or Risk Management field
  • Post graduate or Honours degree would be an advantage
  • 7 years experience in Environmental or Risk Management, including compliance implementation within a Manufacturing industry
  • In depth knowledge of environmental and risk-related legislation and licencing processes
  • 2 years experience in a supervisory / leadership role
  • Strong reporting background
  • Above average communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
