We are hiring! 

 

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Cost Accountant to manage and coordinate the finance and cost management accounting functions within the Mill, including Pulp, Utilities and Paper departments.

 

 

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Investigates and propose changes to the accounting system.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Compiles the monthly fixed and variable costs forecast and compares actuals/results.
  • Ensure the availability of accurate weekly and monthly returns and cost management information.
  • Ensures that all accounting deadlines are met and that provisions and costs are accounted for monthly.
  • Ensures accuracy of costing data in the system for the Mill.
  • Submits daily, weekly and monthly SAP FI/CO reports to Mill Managers accompanied by explanations on variances.
  • Manages profitability initiatives and assist the Mill and Plants with AD HOC profitability studies.
  • Develop and submit proposals for new policies, procedures, and expanded services to the Management Accountant.
  • Ensure the availability of accurate production data and statistics, variable production costs, and management reporting.
  • Prepares annual budgets by updating the bill of materials and cost based on the proposed production plan and assists the Management Accountant with the overall budget process.
  • Assists the Management Accountant with month end close and financial reporting.
  • Assists the Management Accountant with financial forecasts for the Mill (RFC, FC1, FC2, FC3).
  • Driving Real-Time Costing for the mill. 
  • Ensures the joint venture accounting records are accurate, complete and current. 

 

 

What are we looking for? 

 

  • Relevant accounting degree (majors in cost and management accounting will be advantageous)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a costing environment
  • SAP
  • Proficient in Excel
