We’re on the lookout for an experienced Team Member Skilled I (Mpumalanga) to actively participate in field and nursery activities for the Pure Species Breeding Programme and achieve outcomes in terms of production, quality and safety. 
 
As a Team Member Skilled I, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Responsible for ensuring daily tasks are completed individually and as a part of a team.
  • Execute tasks according to expected outcomes in terms of production and quality.
  • Conduct daily pre-work risk assessments, checklists and WSWP.
  • Ensure that the correct PPE is used where necessary. 
  • Complete tasks only if certified and or qualified to do so.
  • Participate in weekly safety talks.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure safe storage to facilitate ready use.
  • Report all damages and losses.
  • Report all equipment service dates to avoid delays and inaccuracies.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent will be advantageous
  • NQF level 3 certificate as a Supervisor or equivalent will be advantageous
  • Up to one years’ experience in a Nursery/ Research/Forestry environment will be advantageous
  • Tree Climbing certification/experience will be advantageous
  • Must be physically fit, flexible and adaptable to work in various weather conditions, terrain types, and challenging environments.
  • Driver’s license (specifically EB/EC1/EC) will be advantageous
  • Basic computer skills will be advantageous
