We’re on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Handyman: Rigger to assist the Rigger and Handyman Rigger in performing rigging and related tasks.

 

 

As an Assistant Handyman: Rigger, you will be responsible for:

  • Loads rigging equipment onto a trolley and conveys it to the place of work or returns it to the rigging store
  • Selects the correct lifting tackle and lifting equipment under instruction from the Rigger, Handyman Rigger, or Foreman
  • Passes chain blocks, slings, and jacks to the Rigger, handyman Rigger or Foreman, places the items instructed by the Rigger, Handyman Rigger, or Foreman
  • Collects spares and items from stores using the trolley or forklift
  • Assists in the manual work of rigging
  • Removal and installation of heavy equipment under the supervision of the Rigger, Handyman, or Foreman
  • Reports any possible safety problems to the Rigger, handyman Rigger, or Foreman
  • Maintains rigging store in a neat and tidy manner

 

 

 What are we looking for?

  • Matric or Grade 12
  • 3 months of working experience as a General worker, with some knowledge of rigging
