We’re looking for an experienced Site Supervisor: Projects to provide high-level technical support and facilitate the collaboration of the construction teams within a project (or section of a project) to work towards the mutual goal of completing the agreed deliverables within the limitations of the predetermined schedule, budget, and quality standards

 

 

As a Site Supervisor: Projects you will be responsible for:

  • Assist management in identifying risks and issues that can impact project delivery, looking at contingency plans, and mitigating actions
  • Monitor the outcome of the project, tracking the performance of all contractors, vendors, and other involved entities
  • Monitor mechanical project upgrades or modifications to plant or process equipment
  • Participate in the adjudication and technical bid clarification process on projects
  • Inspect and approve contractor or supplier quality assurance and resource plans
  • Monitor contractor performance concerning compliance with Mill standard installation, safety standards, and quality of workmanship
  • Communicate concisely and effectively with plant operations and engineering teams
  • Implement effective document control from project conception to final handover
  • Assist & support Project engineers in drafting new or amending mill engineering standards
  • Compile documents and progress reports, schedule project meetings, update project plans, and organise project documentation related to all related projects

 

 

What are we looking for?

  • NQF level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering  (N6/National Diploma Mechanical Engineering/ related field)
  • 5 - 8 years of extensive experience with mechanical engineering projects in heavy industry
  • Completion of accredited training in Project Management will be considered advantageous
