We’re looking for an experienced Health Practitioner (Forest & Saiccor) to be responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated, sustainable, and cost-effective health program.

 

 

As a Health Practitioner (Forest & Saiccor), you will be responsible for:

  • Provide a professional occupational health and primary health care service in the operation, within a legal, ethical framework, to ensure a healthy, productive workforce
  • Provide professional advice to line management with regard to health
  • Assist with the development and implementation of health policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements
  • Build and maintain conducive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and timeous reporting of occupational health issues
  • Assist in identifying and advise management of adverse health effects arising from workplace conditions and manage accordingly
  • Implement education and awareness programmes based on the Health Risks identified
  • Ensure medication management is conducted as prescribed by legislation
  • Implement medical waste management as prescribed by legislation 
  • Manage the Incapacity Ill-health process at the operating units
  • Provide primary emergency care, treat minor illnesses, and refer as necessary

 

 

What are we looking for?

  • General Nursing Diploma / Degree
  • Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Certificate in Spirometry, Audiometry, and Dispensing
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council
  • Current Registration with the South African Society for Occupational Health Nurses
  • Code B Driver's License (Manual Vehicle)
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in an Occupational Health Environment
  • Certificate in Physical (Evaluation) Assessment / Primary Health Nursing will be an added advantage
  • TB Course, STI Course, and HIV / AIDS Management preferred
