Overview:
Sappi North America is seeking a Procurement Manager to serve as the primary liaison between Central Procurement and mill operations. This role leads sourcing strategies, manages procurement for direct and indirect materials and services, and drives cost savings and supplier performance in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities to support mill operations, ensuring efficiency and results
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across assigned commodity categories
- Analyze spend, drive cost reductions, and implement strategic sourcing initiatives
- Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and supplier terms
- Provide leadership and direction to the on-site procurement team
- Manage supplier performance, relationships, and continuous improvement efforts
- Partner with stakeholders to support sourcing plans, RFIs/RFPs, and business cases
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, sustainability initiatives, and company policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field
- 8–10 years of procurement or relevant business experience
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred
