We’re on the lookout for a Gas Producer Helper to ensure all outside equipment and processes are fully utilized and functional. Assist GP Process Operator and ensure safe execution of outside activities.
As a Gas Producer Helper, you will be responsible for:
- Perform daily plant inspections and identify and report abnormal or emergency plant conditions to the Gas Plant Process Operator/Process Controller or Shift Superintendent.
- Assist with plant start-up, shutdown and standby activities as instructed by the Gas Plant Process Operator/Process Controller.
- Check auxiliary equipment and plant operating areas once per shift to identify abnormalities and ensure equipment is operating correctly.
- Assist with ash dips and drain dust cyclones as required during each shift to support effective plant operation.
- Assist with clearing blockages on coal feeders, coal fines chutes and ash pan chutes to maintain continuous plant operation.
- Inspect for foreign material while bunking and monitor coal handling areas for potential operational issues.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards by cleaning spillages, bunker screen floors, ash pan areas, conveyors and other areas within the plant.
- Adhere to all SHEQ requirements, including identifying and managing risks, following safety procedures and BBS practices, reporting incidents, and assisting with safe plant isolation and work permits.
What are we looking for?
- Matric (Grade 12) with Maths & Physical Science or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
- National Diploma in Pulp and Paper/Chemical Engineering or related fields will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 0-3 months experience within a production or Pulp and Paper environment / or similar.
- Relevant plant licence.
