We’re on the lookout for a Cost Analyst to prepare accurate cost reports, analyse production and operating costs, monitor cost performance, and provide management with information to guide financial and operational decisions.
As a Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and distributing weekly and monthly production and cost reports.
- Checking production, material usage and stock data for accuracy, and follow up on differences with the relevant teams.
- Completing routine reconciliations, including fibre balances, additive usage and work in progress.
- Helping to maintain product costing information, including material consumption and cost allocations in SAP.
- Assisting with month end close by checking that all costs are recorded and allocated correctly.
- Supporting product costing by maintaining accurate material usage and production data, checking standard costs, and investigating differences between budgeted and actual costs with the Cost Accountant.
- Monitoring fixed costs against budget, investigate significant variances and prepare clear explanations for management.
- Assisting in the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets.
- Working with Production, Logistics and Technical teams to gather information and resolve reporting queries.
- Carrying out ad hoc cost analysis and maintain clear, organised records.
- Following the mill’s safety, health, environmental and quality requirements.
What are we looking for?
- A BCom degree or National Diploma in Accounting.
- At least three years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- SAP experience, which would be an advantage.
